  1. Coronavirus

The number of daily new cases is now the highest since mid-November, and the risk level on the PES plan is at the highest level. This could lead to tougher restrictions for Christmas and the end of year celebrations.

  1. Transports

A good alternative to plane transport, night trains connections between Prague and major European cities are currently being under study. This project follows a first night connection between Czech Republic and Croatia launched last summer which has been very successful. According to the plan, by December 2021, Paris will be accessible from Prague via Vienna and Munich, as well as Amsterdam and Zurich. Connections to Rome, Milan, Barcelona and Hamburg are also planned.

  1. Anecdote

If you are reading my press reviews about Czech news, you may know at least some basic Czech words: dobrý den, prosím, děkuji… Well, it could have made you rich! Indeed, in the US version of « Who Wants To Be a Millionaire ? », a $ 500,000 question was «  In which language does ‘ano’ mean ‘yes’ ? ». Unfortunately, the contestant didn’t know the answer (neither did the host) and he walked away with only $ 250,000
