Do you want to read some news from me? English? Well, you’re lucky! Here you are! So far I’m having a good time…la, la, la…Those last two weekends children were having holidays and we were preparing some workshops and activities for them. It’s really useful for me. I’ve never realized how different and much easier it is to speak with children than with adults…in French I mean. My French is, let’s face it, horrible. But I’m trying and that counts. Work in progress I would say. I will start my French course soon so hopefully it’s gonna be better. At least I understand the basics and I can speak English with the other EVS volunteers in Paris which feels so lightening after whole French thing.
But back to the holidays. In my organization we had everyday activities for children like trips to Paris, unusual sports, crafting etc. I’ve participated in few of them and I really liked it. C’est domage…that it’s the end. But something ends another begins…you know it, I know it.
This weekend was Halloween…Yep!

A na úvod, než se začnu babrat s Halloweenem, tak chci napsat pár základních stavů… jen abyste byli v obraze.
Takže, je neděle večer. Přesně měsíc už žiju svůj francouzský život. Šílenost! V loni touhle dobou jsem se rozhodovala z čeho odmaturovat a teď jsem skoro v jiné dimenzi. Vážně crazy! Už měsíc pozoruju lidi, jak chodí z obchodů s bagetou a flaškou vína. (Ne, tohle opravu není nepodložený stereotyp.) Už měsíc trávím víkendy v jednom z nejkrásnějších evropských měst. (Paříž vážně stojí za návštěvu.) Už měsíc poslouchám: «Ton accent est trop mignon!» . (Dík, já vim.)
Halloween? Ve Francii? Jasná věc. Trick-or-treating? Yep. Halloween Parties? Yep. Crazy scary costumes? Yep. Francouzi slaví Halloween hodně podobně jako Amíci…No a protože já jako EVS se musím pořádně integrovat, tak jsem s ostatníma volunteers vyrazila do halloweenskou náladou zasažené Paříže. Vínko na Trocaderu s výhledem na zářící Eiffelovku, co víc si přát? Město plné koster, upírů a čarodejnic, které ještě ve čtyři ráno létají po barech. A pak…padající víčka v prvním ranním vlaku. Mrazivá jinovatka těsně před svítáním. Usínání už na schodech do bytu. Zkráceně, zažít halloweenské bláznovství ve městě světel bych přála každému.

And this weekend? Guess what? I had a good time in Lille! City on the north of France just few minutes from borders with Belgium. Amazing architecture, amazing atmosphere, amazing people…amazingly spent weekend!
I was there with eight other volunteers from different parts of Europe…well not even from Europe. It was just so nice to hear English whole weekend. And if some of you guys is reading this…Thank you so much for this opportunity.
