24th April for all Armenians spread all over the world is the day of commemoration of 1.5 million victims of The Armenian Genocide, which was implemented by Turkish government during 1914-1923, and which still continue... 

99 years ago Ottoman government launched systematic extermination of its minority christian citizens - Armenians, subjecting the whole ethnic Armenian population from their historic homeland, territories constituting the present-day Republic of Turkey.

24 April 1915 is the day when Ottoman authorities arrested and within 72 hours executed 250 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in Constantinople (Istanbul).

During the year Armenian able-bodied male population were brutally massacred by the army and special forces, women, children and the elderly were systematically sent on death marches to Syrian desert. 

In the period of 1915-1923, 1,5 milion innocent people (regardless of age and gender) were killed through mass shooting and mass burning or died of hunger and sexual abuses.

That was the first genocide of the 20th century. Armenians lost 85% of their ancient fatherland and half of the Armenians living in the world. Those who survived, were spread all over the world.

On 22 August 1939, a week before the German invasion of Poland, Adolf Hitler gives a speach to his commanders to persuade in his plans, saying,- "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?".

23 countries have officially recognized the events of 1915 as a Genocide.
Turkey still denies these events has taken place.
