3.History In 1969, Karel Prager, a Czech artist, designed a 30 meters high pylon with a bronze statue in honour of Jan Palach, a student who set himself in fire to protest against the repression of Prague Spring. The statue was removed by the regime, and the pylone was left without indication. The intention of the artist was rediscovered recently and the statue has been put back at this place on November 17th 2020.

4.Environment The annual report of Czech Hydro-Meteorological Institute states that the average quality of air in Czech Republic has been the highest since 2008 in 2019. This can be explained by the warmer winter which reduced the use of heating and by the rainy and windy weather. 5.Culture The Prague Fringe Festival, a theatre festival, will occur online from Tuesday 24th to Sunday 29th . It includes “puppet theater for all ages, physical theater, multi-media performance and more, all streamed free of charge in high-definition video”. The events are either non-verbal, in English or with English subtitles, which make them foreigners-friendly.
